His Treasure Wins LRC Best Book Award plus RFW

Hello readers! I have two items to cover in this post.

Firstly. His Treasure is the LR Cafe Best Book of 2011 Winner!

If you remember my post where I'd mentioned the nominations and asked you to vote, I'd written that I wasn't expecting to win. I mean there were books in the same category from well established authors like Kat Martin, Kim Harrison and Sherrilyn Kenyon. Not to mention others. So I wasn't expecting to win. I mean, I was totally flabbergasted with the results. If you live anywhere near the south east of England and heard a woman screaming yesterday. That was probably me.

Want to read my books in paperback?

This week is turning out to be a hectic one. So much's going on. Bear with me while I update you with some news.

#1. Yay!! His Princess, book 3 in the Men of Valor historical romance series will be coming to you sometime in April/May 2012. I signed the contract with Breathless Press yesterday. I'm really excited about this story as it'll be my first full-length historical romance novel. I'll be sharing more about it soon. I can't wait to see what my cover artist will come up with this time.

Time to Vote - HIS TREASURE is LRC Nominee Best Book 2011

Some of you may already know this, His Treasure was nominated for Best Book of 2011 by Love Romances Cafe. You can check out my New Year post where I made the original announcement. The full list of LRC Best Book of 2011 Nominees is here.

Well the thing is, it's now time to vote for the winner. Not that I dream of winning it. There are some well established writers' books on that list. But I'd appreciate your support as always.

To vote simply click on the link to go to Dawn's Reading Nook blog and leave a comment indicating which book on the list you want to vote for. I hope it'll be His Treasure. ;)

Thank you again for all your support.

Romantic Friday Writers - New Year's Resolution

Hello readers! I'm back from a long hiatus from Romantic Friday Writers. This is the first challenge for the New Year and not so coincidentally the theme is New Year's Resolution. As always, the challenge is to write a piece of prose/poem/flash fiction of no more than 400 words.

My snippet today is from a work in progress titled Making Scandal. It's the second in a contemporary romance Essien trilogy series. This is Mark and Faith's story. This story is in its early stages, so bear with me if things don't make sense yet.

Thrusty Thursday - Unveiling Book Cover no3

Hello readers, it’s not very often I do two posts in one week but this is a special week. On Monday I unveiled the cover to His Strength, the 2nd in the Men of Valor historical romance mini-series which is out February 10.

Today, I’d like to share with you the cover art for my contemporary romance novella due out January 30, 2012. A Valentine Challenge is set mainly in Enugu, Nigeria. Here’s the blurb.

Ex-soldier Michael Ede has spent his time building his life exactly the way he wants it. Life is good. Or so he thinks. So when his friends set him a challenge to exorcise the memory of a woman from his past, he expects it to be a walk in the park.

Socialite Kasie Bosa is spitting fire at men. Her long-term boyfriend has asked for a break via text message of all things. How dare he? She’s told him to go take a dive into the River Niger. And not so politely too. So the next man who dares to cross her path is at risk of getting shredded with her spa manicured nails.

New Year, New Cover, New Books

Hello everyone. Happy New Year! I hope that 2012 meets you healthy and hearty.

2011 was a fantastic year for me—I signed my first publishing contract and published my first book, meaning that I achieved a goal I’d set for myself at the beginning of the year. Read my thanksgiving postwhere I listed several reasons for me to be thankful in 2011.

For 2012, I have upped the ante on my goals, pushing myself even further. So I hope you’ll stay with me as I aim to break new grounds this year. This year, expect more from me. More projects, more excerpts, more freebies and more all round fun.
To kick off the New Year, I’d like to unveil the cover of my next book, His Strength, Men of Valor #2. It is out February 10, 2012. This is the story of Ikem and Nneka who are briefly mentioned in His Treasure. Visit My Books page to read the blurb. You can also read an excerpt. I’d like to thank my cover artist Mina Carter for capturing the characters very well. I love it. Don’t you? J
