"When
your soul was in limbo, I waited." A shadow crossed his eyes as the
anguish of the long wait for her soul to reincarnate returned. He had served
out the sentence with her. It was torture to be eternally bonded and be apart.
While she couldn't sense him, he sensed her and her pain. And lived it every
day. "When you were born into the human body all I could do was watch you
from a distance. I wasn't allowed to contact you, just watch over you, and keep
you safe."
She
must have seen the torment in his eyes because she moved closer to him and
hugged him tightly, squeezing his body affectionately, her head tucked in his
shoulders. He was taken aback. However, he held onto her, grateful for the
contact quelling his disquiet.
