A shadow slid across the cave wall #MidWeekTease Halloween #ASMSG

Happy Wednesday and welcome to Mid-Week Tease hosted by the lovely Sandra Bunino where authors share excerpts from their work-in-progress or published book.

This week we have a Halloween themed MWT and the teasers are about things that go bump in the night. I'm happy to bring you a teaser from Black Soul, Black Warriors series: Prequel.

In this scene, Tara is on a sightseeing trip down some caves. But she's about to get more than she read in the tourist brochures. Enjoy

Deep into the vaults, they walked past ghoulish models made from wax. Most of them drew little of her attention until she saw the wax figure of a man dressed in a red headpiece, sash across a grey shirt, leather boots and dreadlocks. She paused in front of it, admiring how life-like it appeared.
A sudden brisk breeze chilled the air. She rubbed her arms and pulled her jacket tight around her body. Glancing around, she realized she'd been left behind by the group. The voice of the tour guide sounded faint and distant. She picked up her pace in that direction, not wanting to lose her way in the dark, narrow caverns.
A shadow slid across the jagged cave wall, catching her peripheral vision. Shoulders bunched, she swiveled but found nothing. The hair on her nape and arms lifted. Spooked as she no longer heard the group, she quickened her steps. She turned the corner and bumped into someone who grabbed her arms.
Jerking back, she gasped, her breath bursting her lungs as fear spiked through her body. She looked up and stared into the face of the man in the pirate outfit she'd seen in the cavern earlier.

Desperation flowed in his veins #MidWeekTease #ASMSG #MWTease Black Soul

Happy Wednesday and welcome to Mid-Week Tease hosted by the lovely Sandra Bunino where authors share excerpts from their work-in-progress or published book.

Oct 30 sees the release of Black Soul, my upcoming paranormal romance series prequel. Black Soul was previously published as Unbound in an anthology but it's going through a huge overhaul in revisions.

Anyway, here's my teaser from Black Soul. It's not finalised yet so this could still change. I hope you enjoy it.

Here's the teaser from the Prologue:

M'na lounged in the worn foam armchair, thighs apart, legs stretched out, and right hand clutching a short tumbler of whisky.
Desperation flowed in his veins, making him feverish. Sweat dripped down his face. His t-shirt clung to his back, a second skin. The air in the studio flat hung hot and heavy, making breathing a laboured affair.

Thank you so much for having me on your blog!
Who hasn’t been infatuated with a sexy poster boy – actor, pop star, or football hero – even though he was unobtainable? The heroine in my Hot Model Mine series is a thriving author and hard-working mother nearing her forties. Tough, independent, and having long ago lost faith in love, she dismisses her crush on the cover model of her book to protect herself. What then can she do when that gorgeous young man surprisingly falls for her, too?
I hope you enjoy this tale of ‘impossible’ love, dead-honest and written with my heart.

BLURB:

When Andrea Johnson, writing as author Cindy Vega, signed up for a Meet & Greet with the cover model of her latest book, she didn’t expect sparks to fly. Yushka is dangerously good-looking and too young for her. But their connection is instantaneous, and during a photo shoot with the two, the photographer picks up on their growing attraction. Seeing the potential for the cover photo of the century, he decides to push their comfort limits...

Love is incomplete without heartbreak @AduraOjo #Authorspeak #chat

Happy Monday, people! I have the lovely +Adura Ojo  with me today and we're chatting about Love and Heartbreak. Come, join us and have a cuppa.

Over to you, Adura...

Thanks Kiru for hosting me on your blog today. I’m deeply honoured especially as you’ve already given me the benefit of a stunning professional offering in the shape of that beautifully robed woman gracing my book cover. Just to give readers a brief intro into how this post came about. We’d agreed that I’d do a guest post. I set out to write a guest post about love and heartbreak and this imaginary chat with Kiru cropped up in my head. So I ditched the guest post and typed up Kiru’s ‘chat’ with me instead!

Enjoy the snippet.

Her arousal increased. She clung to his muscular arms, her hardened nipples rubbing against his chest. Despite the clothes between them, it felt as if skin stroked skin. Her core pulsed. His hand cupped her behind, pulling her in to feel his rigidity between her thighs.
Sensation coursed through her body, swamping every pore. She writhed in his arms, her body undulating uncontrollably

I hope you enjoyed this. Leave me a comment and check out the other sexy snippets this week.

Like what you see? #MidWeekTease #MWTease #ASMSG

Welcome back to mid-week tease hosted by the lovely Sandra Bunino, where we share excerpts from our work-in-progress or published books.

This week I'm continuing with more from my current WIP, Riding Rebel, book 3 of the Essien trilogy.

This the scene where Rita meets Tony for the first time. They say first impressions are important, right? LOL.

It is unedited. Enjoy.

Petersen walked off. She pulled her the black soft shimmer silk pashmina across her shoulders, suddenly feeling the lost and cold of the almost freezing air from the aircon.
The hotel had played host to dignitaries and celebrities over the years and was magnificent. Who wouldn't anyone want to cosy up to the grandeur of the place. The place made her feel as if she was a celebrity just by being there. She felt like a Nollywood starlet, even though her claim to Nollywood was a two-bit walk on part for a few minutes.
Men stared at her openly, appreciatively. These men were out of her league, dressed in suits that were worth more money than she earned in a month. Her boyfriend, though he had a good job in a bank, didn't earn enough to buy expensive outfits like those.
An unfamiliar thrill shot through her blood. And she had to admit it. She enjoyed the attention. Perhaps that was partly the reason she enjoyed acting so much.
"Not feeling lonely, are you?"
The deep, sexy drawl, vibrated through her body and had her rotating in her seat to see who had spoken.
She saw a pair of black boots first, certainly not the kind she'd expect at a black tie event, but still fashionable enough to work. Then a pair of dark trousers made from a shiny fabric wrapped around sturdy thighs, not bulky but lean corded muscles beneath. Her gaze paused at the studded black belt. Also not something she expected to see at an event like this, but eye catching.
"Like what you see?" There was amusement in his voice this time.
Heat flooded her face that he must have thought she was staring at his groin which invariably she was and this time she had to look.
Did his fly just swell a little?
Oh God, her face heated up even more and she turned away, and reached for her glass of champagne to cool down.
She took a sip, allowed the cool liquid to flow down her throat, counted down from five before turning back to look at the man and apologise for staring.
Her apology died in her throat.
Sitting in the chair vacated by Petersen was Tony Essien.
